New MSTCA Positions ~ Apply Now! Cross Country Seasonal Director: $3000 Indoor Track Seasonal Director: Salary $6000 (Job descriptions below)

Interviews will be conducted by the Board of Trustees @ MSTCA Headquarters or via Virtual Meeting (i.e. Zoom) pending the candidates schedule on either 4/19 or 4/20.

From Revised Bylaws:

Job Description: Directors of Meet Operations (DMO – 3 positions): a separate DMO for each season (cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track) will be appointed by the Board of Trustees. The DMO is responsible for the overall operation and supervision of all competitions sponsored by the MSTCA during a particular season.

  1. Serve as chair of the associated MSTCA seasonal committee

  2. Hire officials, site staff, police, trainers/EMT’s

  3. Arrange entry process, timing services in consultation with the Director of Timing Services

  4. Arrange for adequate equipment (everything from hurdles to port-a-johns)

  5. Obtain awards

  6. Securing all needed facilities, primary liaison with facility owner

  7. Arrange sanctioning as necessary

  8. Enforcement of all general MSTCA policies: drone, tent, facility safety, catastrophic event, lightning, emergency contact, etc.

  9. Arranges for proper gate control and manages ticket sales

  10. Arranges for adequate parking and manages parking operations, where applicable

  11. Potential to manage the sale of T-shirts and other MSTCA items (however, this is usually taken care of by Marathon Sports / Bay State Running).

  12. Many other site and event-specific details

Skills Needed/Recommended: Previous experience as a Meet Director and knowledge of the preparation & implementation of an MSTCA event, along w/ the interpersonal skills and teamwork needed to work cooperatively with other key personnel to facilitate a successful experience for the student-athletes of the MSTCA.
