A proud graduate of Catholic Memorial High and Boston College, Paul took over the Franklin program in 1984 and has accomplished an impressive career while guiding the Franklin girls to elite status. Coach Trovato’s teams have been a Hockomock League and EMASS powerhouse ever since, especially on the indoor circuit. Dominant would be the best word to describe his teams in the 90’s- seven Hockomock dual meet titles, five Hockomock League championships, five MSTCA Relay crowns, three Class C Divisional championships in 1993-1995 and an All-State win in 1997. This success has continued in this decade with eight more Hockomock dual or league crowns. Additionally, Paul’s teams have been perennial spring powers with numerous titles, most notably the 1995 outdoor Class C Championship. He also coached All American Jen Vendetti and Globe All Scholastic Maura Carlucci, currently assistant coach at Oregon. No wonder, fellow MSTCA Hall of Famer Kevin Murphy of Foxboro speaks admirably about Coach Trovato’s success but, just as importantly, his impact as a teacher and a mentor of young people. “Many life’s lessons have been learned under Paul’s tutelage and he is a role model who never wavers his professionalism and commitment of others.”, said Kevin. Coach Trovato is highly respected for his outstanding coaching and over 300 wins, yet he gives credit to other such as Tom Meagher, “The only coach I ever had for 8 years at C.M. and B.C.”, where Paul was all New England in 1975. Most importantly Pual is very proud of his two sons , Peter and Christopher, both Division I college hockey players and high school track standouts, and his wife, Mary, a nurse Beth Israel Hospital.
