Coach Comeau becomes the latest addition to the MSTCA Hall of a long line of Andover High School greats. A former Andover standout himself, Peter has now been mentoring at his alma mater for 21 years. A two time Boston Globe Coach-of-the-Year in 2003 and 2008, Peter has continued the tradition at his school of the Golden Warriors being one of the true EMASS juggernauts in both boys and girls track. A rarity these days, Coach Comeau not only still coaches and lives in his hometown but also owns and operates the successful Optimum Sportswear Company there. Known for his motivational techniques, Peter had over 200 athletes in the program this past winter as his club again excelled on the largest stage. Andovers boys were a strong third in the Division I meet, but, more importantly, followed up with an exciting All-State championship crown. Peter’s record includes ten Merrimack Valley Conference titles along with eleven different MVC Coach of the Year to compliment his 235 victory, since assuming head coaching in 1996. Additionally, there have been three MSTCA relay crowns, two girls division 1 outdoor crowns, and two MIAA All State wins for the girls in 2005 and 2008. Athletic Director, Chris Bergeron calls Peter, “An exceptional person who always looks to do what is best for his student-athletes regardless of their ability.” Coach Comeau credits his wife of fifteen years, Susan, for her support and is proud of his four children, Joey, Courtney,Michael, and Matthew.
