Shrewsbury High School

Our CMASS-WMASS Hall recipient this year began his track career at Wachusett Regional High where he captained all three teams in 1967-68. After graduation from Otterbein College in Ohio, he was hired at Shrewsbury High in 1972 and taught, coached, and served as the Athletic Director there for his entire tenure. Geordie coached three league championships in cross country and four in spring track, has coached District “E” spring champion teams and many individual district champions, and is a member of the Shrewsbury and Wachusett Regional Hall of Famer. Plus, he is a former MSTCA Coach of the Year and District A.D. of the year. A founding father of the CMASS TFOA, Geordie also served on the MIAA Track and Cross Country Committee for ten years, served as a starter at the Bay State Games, has been a Meet Director for the District “E” Boys Spring Class Championships since 1987, and has served on that committee for over twenty years.w Geordie credits his dad, fellow Hall of Famer, Fred Warren, for his influence and guidance along with Mike Kleminch, Nick DiPilato, Rick Riley, and MSTCA V.P. Charlie Butterfeild for helping him develop his love for coaching and officiating.
