It is quite fitting that Powell was inducted at Franklin Park, as he holds the Massachusetts fastest time of 14:52. The former of Oliver Ames / Standford standout held the State record in the 1 Mile at 4:02.7. He was also involved in probably the greatest Massachusetts race of all time, as he ran 8:50.2 for the 2 Mile run. He was nipped at the finish line by Franklyn Sanchez in 1998 Indoor All State Meet.
