Jackie Smith Halliday, a 1987 graduate of Randolph High School. Success came early and often for this talented speedster. As a freshman she set the National Freshman record running 6.15 in the 50y dash and the National Junior Record of 6.12. As a sophomore, she went undefeated in her sprint specialty, the 50y dash. And on the way she set a state record of 6.0 in the 50y dash. She would go on to win the Division 1 50y dash and at the time was the #2 ranked in the country. she also won the Eastern States Championships in New Jersey winning the 60m dash in 7.14. In her junior indoor campaign, she again dominated the dash and was basically untouchable during that indoor season. She won all of the statewide competitions. She set a state meet record with the fastest high school time ever in Massachusetts winning the 50y dash at MIT. As a senior, this outstanding sprinter completed a three-year sweep of the indoor state dash championship She would go on to the State Coaches meet where she would set yet another state record in the 55m dash with a blistering time of 7.10. That spring She would run and win the New England Championship in the100m with a time of 12.00 and her Randolph 4x100 team also won. Attending Northeastern University she was the American East Conference champion in 1991 in the 55m dash with a time of 6.98 and the New England Champion with a time of 6.93. She was the conference champion in the 100m in 1991 and 1992 with times of 12.14 and 11.70 respectively. She currently still holds the Northeastern school record in the 55m dash with a time of 6.93 and currently ranks #8 all time in the 100m in 11.68 #9 all time in the 200 in 24.51.
