Jenifer Vendetti was a member of the Franklin High School Track and Field Team from 1995 to 1999. As a middle distance runner, Jen produced some remarkable performances that qualified her for admittance into the Massachusetts’ Athletes Track and Field Hall of Fame. Jen was the Massachusetts’ State Champion in the 400, 600 and 1000 meter races. Jen’s times of 1:32.32 in the 600 and 54.98 in the 400 meters rank among the best overall performances in Massachusetts High School Track and Field. Jenifer Vendetti was recognized as a two time National Scholastic Track and Field All American. Jen competed at the highest level while running against many of the elite athletes in the United States. Jen finished 3rd in the 800 meter race at the National Scholastic Indoor Championships held in Boston in 1998. She followed up that performance with a second place finish in the 800 meter race at the 1998 National Scholastic Outdoor Championships held in Raleigh, North Carolina, narrowly losing the national championship. The winning time was 2:09.10. Jen’s time at that meet was 2:09.45. Jen ran that time from the unseeded heat and almost pulled off the national championship. Jen was selected as the Boston Globe’s All Scholastic Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year in 1997-1998. After graduating from Franklin High School, Jen had a very successful track and field career competing for Boston College.
