Cross Country Subcommittee Puts Forth Tournament Proposal For 2021-2022
At a meeting of the MIAA cross country subcommittee held on Tuesday, April 28, a motion was made to pass on a proposal to MIAA T&F/X-C Committee for discussion and vote Monday, June 8th.
The proposal would create nine State Divisions based on enrollment, with three sites hosting three divisions each. The top 7 teams from each of the Divisional Qualifying meets, along with the top 15 individuals from each of these races not on qualifying teams, will advance to the All-State Meet, which will be composed of three divisions. (There will be a total of 192 runners advancing from each of the three Divisional Qualifying Meets.)
A vote in support by the MIAA T&F/X-C Committee on June 8th will send this proposal to the MIAA Tournament Management Committee for approval, and if accepted, will go into effect for the Fall of 2021.
Principals and Athletic Directors will have the option of appealing their divisional placement, should they choose to do so.
If you have any concerns, please contact MSTCA President Jim Hoar or Executive Director Rick Kates-both represent the MSTCA on the MIAA XC/TF Committee for coaches.
