New England Track & Field Clinic Cancelled

Dear MSTCA Members and New England Track and Field Clinic Registrants,

In light of the recent public health concerns regarding the Covid-19 (Coronavirus), and after receiving updates from the CDC, locally from the Governor, DESE, the Superintendents’ Association, and listening to you (the coaches), the MSTCA has made the decision to cancel the New England Track and Field Clinic. Massachusetts has declared a state of emergency on Tuesday due to the ongoing concerns about the coronavirus.

Decisions like this are never easy. As you know, making a decision like this will never be unanimous, however, in light of the current situation, we feel it is better to be proactive than reactive. Our number one priority has always been, and continues to be, the health and safety of our coaches and the community at large. This is an unprecedented and rapidly shifting situation that is a significant inconvenience to everyone involved. We believe that this large, community event that brings many people into one enclosed gathering space is an unnecessary risk at this time.

With this decision being made, we would like to offer all of the registered attendees a few options.

  1. Roll your payment into the 2021 New England Track and Field Clinic by sending an email to the MSTCA COO Jay Sylvain at mstca.billing@gmail.com .

  2. Request a reimbursement for this year's New England Track and Field Clinic by sending an email to the MSTCA COO Jay Sylvain at mstca.billing@gmail.com .

We would also like to thank Clinic Director Mark Thornhill for the immense amount of work he has done to prepare for this annual educational summit.
