As we mentioned in the previous blast, the MSTCA's plans for this cross country season have been constantly changing. We will now need to make an additional change to our plan, as we were notified by the Wrentham Development Center on Friday that they have chosen to close their field to cross country races this fall.
As leaders of the MSTCA, we know how ingrained the WDC course has become in regards to Massachusetts high school cross country, so we spent many hours trying to secure the field for the fall 2020 season. Ultimately, we respect the decision made by the WDC administration, just as we respect the previous decision the Cape Cod Fairgrounds administration made to close their facility (site of our Twilight Invitational) this fall.
The MSTCA will now push ahead with a schedule which will focus on the Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park in Attleboro. More details will follow soon. In the meantime, please continue to remind your athletes that our first meet of the season will be held at Highland on Sunday, October 18th. Athletes can register for this meet here. We look forward to seeing many of you at the Frank Kelley Invitational next week!
