Kevin Murphy

This year’s medalist in coaching experience has had a sparkling thirty-three year career beginning at his alma mater, Norwood High in 1974. After 11 years there, Coach Murphy moved on to Foxboro where he has built on of the most respected programs in Emass With over 400 victories under his belt, Kevin has led his boys and girls program to every major championship. Twenty one league crowns, including this winter, 4 South Shore Principals Meet wins, 2 class relays, 6 class meet titles, and an All State victory can only partially summarize Foxboro’s success. Specializing in the relays and middle distances, Kevin’s contributions are testimony to his lifelong interest in helping students attain their potientain not only as athletes but as members of society. Kevin’s commitment and tireless dedication are clearly reflected in the great respect he has from his colleagues. A former Northeast Indoor Coach of the Year for boys track in 2000 as selected by the NFICA, Coach Murphy has been a two time Globe Coach of the Year and also twice been honored as MSTCA Coach of the Year, Currently, he serves as assistant meet director for both the South Shore Principals and Hockomock League Championships cross country meets . Department Head for Health and P.E. for the Foxboro Public Schools, Kevin gives credit to fellow Hall of Famers George King and Mike Scalon , along with Foxboro High football coach Jack Martinelli, and most of all, his wife of 33 years Bobbi.
