Thirty years at Wachusett Regional have made Brian a CMA legend for the Mountaineers, and earned him the distinction of the induction into the Hall. He is also the son of another MSTCA Hall of Famer, the great John Wallace of Doherty in Worcester. Known for his passion for coaching and stressing the importance of integrity,Coach Wallace always stressed to his athletes the importance of commitment to teammates and to the sport. No wonder his accomplishments at Wachusett are numerous in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. Included are multiple CMASS titles in all three sports for both boys and girls, including four Division 1 girls indoor crowns, and a Division 1 boys indoor title in 1998. Additionally, there were the two big All-State wins- the indoor crown in 1999 and the boy cross country title in 2002. Brian began his career running for Hall of Famer Fred Warren at Wachusett, went on to Worcester State College where he had an outstanding track career, and eventually returned to his alma mater and assisted Coach Warren for 10 years. He is also the meet Director of the renowned Wachusett Cross Country Invitational and overseas summer track program in Holden. Coach Wallace enters the Hall after his retirement last October from teaching and subsequent exit from his storied coaching career at the green clad Wachusett powerhouse.
