Rob MacDougall

Tewskbury

This year’s Veteran’s category inductee is a thirty-eight year teaching veteran who has retired, but his passion for education has returned him to the collegiate level! Mr. MacDougall’s storied career at Tewksbury began in 1978 and produced close to 500 victories in the tough Merrimack Valley Conference. A University of Michigian grad, this soft-spoken leader has been highly respected by his peers and described as “the epitome of class and dignity” by his A.D., Bob Aylward. No wonder that his resume includes almost 275 wins in cross country with 15 league titles, nearly 165 victories in spring with more crowns and four class relay championships. Six times he led his club to class titles, and twice, all state runner-ups, with a coveted Boston Globe Coach of the Year award in 1988 for C.C. The Lowell Sun has honored Rob as it’s coach of the year staggering 14 times! Coach MacDogall’s enormous integrity is well known- the MSTCA received a letter from a rival Superintendent in 2003 lauding his sportsmanship pursuant to a meet result discrepancy, which actually affected his own team. Rob is quick to credit many of his peers for his success, including Tewksbury coach Steve Levine and assistant Jen Brooks and Bill Piccone. He is the proud father of two children, Rebecca and David, and has been happily married for 36 years to his wife Diane.
