Oulette ran cross country and competed on the winter and spring track teams. He was a Class E champion in the long jump and 100-yard dash and the State Meet long jump champion in 1965 and 1966. Most notably, he set the state meet record for the long jump of 23′ 10 ¼” –a record which still stands today. He was the DY Invitational winner in the long jump and holds the Wareham High School long jump record of 24′ ¼”. After graduation, he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Brown University and taught science in the Wareham school system for 31 years.
